Shawn Lamouree receives the endorsement of both major employee unions that represent the sworn members of the New York State Police.
The two unions that represent over 8,000 serving and retired sworn members of the New York State Police have endorsed Shawn Lamouree in the race for Warren County Sheriff.
On Wednesday May 8th, Christopher Quick and Ron Pierone, President and Vice President, respectively, of the New York State Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA) and Dale Palmer, of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (NYST PBA) personally presented Shawn Lamouree with their organization’s endorsements at the Old Warren County Courthouse in the Village of Lake George.
In announcing their endorsement, NYSPIA President Quick and Vice President Pierone, who represent over 2,000 serving and retired members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), said that Shawn Lamouree’s many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Warren County have forged a reputation with the region’s law enforcement agencies and community members that is “second to none.”
In their union’s official endorsement letter, which was presented to Lamouree at Wednesday’s meeting, they wrote:
“The New York State Police Investigators Association appreciates the expertise and assistance that you have provided throughout the years and our membership has great confidence in your ability and foresight…We look forward to working with you as Sheriff to create a safe and secure atmosphere in the Warren County area.”
Support for Lamouree is equally strong with the union that represents over 6,000 active and retired uniformed members of the State Police, which include all uniformed Troopers, Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains and Majors. Dale Palmer of the State Troopers PBA, who is the delegate for both Troop G and State Police Headquarters, presented Shawn Lamouree with a copy of his organization’s endorsement announcement during the same meeting.
The Troopers PBA announcement cited Lamouree’s “extensive experience,” which they said had “fostered positive and cooperative working relationships with law enforcement agencies…”
The PBA’s announcement concludes,
“It is with careful consideration that the PBA is endorsing Shawn Lamouree in the election for Warren County Sheriff. The PBA is confident that Shawn Lamouree will guide the Warren County Sheriff’s Department in a direction that best provides law enforcement protection for residents.”
After receiving both endorsements Shawn Lamouree said,
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsements from both of these unions, which together represent the overwhelming majority of the sworn members of the New York State Police. While every endorsement is important to me, it is a special honor to be endorsed by members of other police agencies that we work with on a regular basis.
These endorsements both acknowledge and demonstrate the spirit of cooperation and professional respect that Sheriff Bud York has brought to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. These agencies are viewed as our partners.
The endorsements from these two major police unions are further evidence of the positive working relationship we have with other law enforcement agencies. These partnerships have been a benefit, not only to our law enforcement community, but also to the community at large. I gratefully accept both of these endorsements and I look forward to continuing to pursue cooperative efforts with the members of the New York State Police and our other law enforcement partners in the days ahead.”
